The Scriptures
The Holy Bible was written without flaw by men, divinely inspired by revelations from God. God is the author of salvation and truth. Everything in the Bible is infallible and righteous, worthy of our trust. It lays a foundation for the history of our creation, our life and our need for a savior in God’s son Jesus Christ. It was designed to provide principles to live by and how we will be judged. Christ is at the center of scripture, revealing again and again His sovereignty and revelation.
God
There is but One God; Creator God. He manifests Himself as a triune God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit each possessing specific characteristics, yet existing as one.
God the Father
God the Father exists as Creator God and ultimate sovereign authority of the universe and our individual being. He always was, is and is to come. He exists to Father all who accept Him by faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.
God the Son
Christ is the everlasting Son of God. Jesus Christ is God incarnate. Jesus existed as a man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life on earth and showed His obedience by being subject to death on a cross, to become the propitiation for our sins, by which through faith we can live in relationship with Him. He rose on the third day and now sits at the right hand of God.
God the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He exists to magnify Christ. The power of the Holy Spirit convicts men, women and children of their sins. The Holy Spirit also enlightens and empowers believers in Christ. It is through the holy spirit we are led to exalt, worship, serve and speak this truth to others.
Man
Man was created in the image of God. Humans were created male and female and we are the most loved and cherished beings according to Creator God. At the beginning of creation, man disobeyed God, thus sin was born and entered the world. God continued and still continues to allow man to be created, further emphasizing His great love for us. His love is evident in that He sent His Son Jesus to die for the sins of all mankind. We are to model His love by showing it to all people.
Salvation
Salvation is attainable for anyone who comes to faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus died on the cross for our sins, His blood cleanses us from our iniquities. Salvation encompasses regeneration (renewal), justification (God making us righteous), sanctification (to be made holy, cleansed from our sin), and glorification (one day being made holy like Him).
Grace
Grace is not earned, but given by Christ. It is God’s grace on us that allows us to have a relationship with Him. Grace cannot be lost and by accepting faith, grace keeps us close to Christ. “Grace is the good pleasure of God that inclines him to bestow benefits on the undeserving .” ~ A. W. Tozer (by grace you have been saved through faith)
Church & The Lord's Day
Although Deaf 316 Ministries seeks to provide deep meaningful resources for the deaf and hearing community, it is equally important to join and involve yourself with a Bible believing church family. Church is formed when a body of believers come together with common goals to expand individual knowledge in the scriptures while actively seeking to live them out. According to the Bible, churches are led by pastors and deacons. Men and women should both actively find places to serve within the church, but the position of authority in the church known as pastor is exclusive and limited to men according to God’s Word. The Lord’s Day is the first day of the week to honor the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. It is a day for believers to attend services of worship, reflect on your personal relationship with God and fellowship in the presence of other bible believing Christians. *Deaf 316 Ministries does not operate on Sundays as it is important for us to worship the Lord in this way. Videos are not posted and emails will not be answered on Sundays. We encourage you to serve the Lord on His day.
Stewardship
It is because of God that we have material and spiritual blessings. It is important to serve God with our time, talents and treasures.
Baptism
Baptism does not bring salvation. It is an outward expression of an internal decision to follow Christ. When a believer is submerged in water and brought back up, it represents Jesus’ death on the cross and resurrection of His physical body. In this way, we can symbolically understand how faith in Christ can lead to death of sin and newness of life.
Missions & Evangelism
Jesus commanded the disciples before His return to heaven to take the gospel story to every nation. He desires us to do the same by embracing the opportunity to share with others and come along side to teach them deep rooted truths of scripture.
End Times
Jesus will return. We do not know the day or the time, but we know with certainty His return will bring the world’s end. The dead in Christ shall rise and all peoples, believers and unbelievers will be judged according to God’s righteousness. The unrighteous confined to hell and the righteous to be rewarded and to dwell eternally with our Father in Heaven.
Family
Marriage in the purest biblical sense is described as one man and one woman being unified in marriage for their lifetime. As both men and women are created in Gods image, a husband must love his wife as Christ loves the church and a wife shall submit kindly to her husband’s leadership and though she is equal to him, she is his helpmate. A wife is to serve alongside her husband to maintain the household and provide a nurturing environment for any children to come. Parents are to model Christ to their children through love and care.
