Week 17

We are now in the fourth week of Act 2, scene 5 in the story of Scripture. This week we will read a number of psalms and finish the chronicler’s genealogies.

What a great week of readings!

From 1 Chronicles, we’ve traced genealogies from Adam to David and beyond. From 2 Samuel, we’ve
observed David’s rise as king after Saul’s death. And from Psalms, we’ve seen many worshipful
responses to life’s challenges.

Week 16

In the story of Scripture we are still in Act 2, scene 5. Saul had died, and David had come to the throne. This week we will focus on psalms and genealogies related to the greatest of Israel’s kings.

Week 15: Day 7

This week, we have mainly hit the pause button in the narrative, moving ahead only a bit to Saul’s death. We have instead read many psalms that have expressed wide ranging emotions such as prayer for justice, plea for protection and a cry for truth and peace.

Today’s readings are Psalms 121; 123-125 and 128-130.

Action:
-As you pray these psalms, reflect on God as the great center of all life and the provider of all you need. Commit yourself in a fresh way to seeking, trusting, hoping in, and loving him.
