WEEK 2: DAY 7

WEEK 2: DAY 7

What a great week of readings!

We’ve read about three generations of people with whom God made a covenant: Abraham and
Sarah, Isaac and Rebekah, and Jacob and his wives.

We also learned that God asks for unwavering obedience, but is also extremely gracious.

WEEK 2: DAY 1

By Chronological Bible

Scene 1 – The People: God Calls a Covenant People

WEEK 2: DAY 1

We will follow two parallel accounts in this scene.

First, we will follow the story of Abraham and his descendants as they enter Egypt. We will also
see how God sets the stage for the creation of the nation of Israel and how the channel for the
Savior built.

Second, we will look at the story of Job and reflect on the “problem of evil.”

Week 2: Day 1
Today’s reading is Genesis 12-13

Questions:
-God promises Abraham that he will make him a great nation and bless other people through
him. How might this promise lay a foundation for the biblical emphasis on the way God’s
people should treat their enemies, a theme developed in both the Old and New Testaments?

-Whom might you bless today? How will you do so?
